Earlier in the summer we began noticing random plants popping up in areas that we had composted earlier in the spring. Many of these turned out to be volunteer tomatoes or wild strawberries. All of the tomatoes plants that popped up on their own, produced way more fruit than the ones we purchased at American Plant. We got almost thirty tomatoes off one of these wild beasts.
Not much to say about the peach tree. We’re trying…
Our biggest surprise came mid summer when we found something that looked like zucchini or watermelon or my secret hope pumpkins. Within a week we were pretty sure we had a pumpkin! Volunteers. I’m sure most gardeners think this is not a big deal but I’m convinced had I tried to grow a pumpkin it wouldn’t happen in a million years.
